Hoof It Goat Treks is a family-run attraction, located on a fourth-generation owned, “wooded wonderland” here in Galena, IL. Visitors are invited to explore the 300 acres of woods and prairie, accompanied by the goats, for a unique and memorable experience.

A Walk on the Wild Side—With Goats​

The company offers a variety of different treks for different tastes. These include the Standard Goat Trek and private treks tailored specially for your group. There’s also an evening trek that includes a bonfire and s’mores under the stars.​ If you have mobility challenges, you can just visit with the goats in a play pen. Fun!

The Standard Goat Trek is a 1.25-mile guided hike lasting between 45 minutes to an hour. The goats accompany you as you meander through the scenic landscape, often seeking treats and affection. Their company adding a delightful twist to your walk. The trail is accessible for all ages and most abilities.

Beyond their regular offerings, Hoof It hosts a variety of special events throughout the year.  These include live music events, wine-tastings, foraging workshops, journaling, and more.

Though Hoof It is less than 20 minutes drive from our Galena bed and breakfast, our guests don’t have to go anywhere to see a goat. That’s because we have some of our own!
